This week’s Island spotlight is brought to you by COFFEE!
Vacation is meant to be relaxing–you’re at the beach after all. But, for most Moms, vacation is just like home but with sand. And Mom or not, sometimes you need that little extra fuel to start your day, get you through the hustle and bustle of daily excursions, or to awaken you from the tiredness of the Carolina sun. So, let me suggest you head on over to my favorite place for coffee on Oak Island–Ruby’s Coffeehouse & Eatery.
Ruby’s is conveniently located at the Oak Island Fishing Pier so you can easily walk or get there by car, golf cart, or bike. The coffee shop is adorably decorated inside and is downright yummy! Ruby’s offers a wide variety of coffee drinks, breakfast sandwiches, pastries, lunch items, and local Sweet Treat ice cream. The bagels are the best on the Island and the specialty lattes are delicious–my favorite is the iced Coconut Pistachio. PRO TIP: the drinks are on the sweeter side so, if you like a hint of sweetness like me, ask for the drink half sweet and it comes out perfect!
You’ll find me heading to Ruby’s by golf cart, grabbing an iced latte, and making my way underneath the pier with the kids so they can explore while I enjoy my latte. So, start your day with a coffee or latte, a sandwich or pastry, or an ice cream for the kids and enjoy as you take a stroll on the pier–the view will certainly not disappoint. And, if you see me on the beach, stop by and say hello and tell me what you think!
