Almost a year

I have tried to take Logan’s monthly milestone picture with the same chalk board and flowers that I used for decorations at my baby shower. I wanted some commonality in her photos, but I didn’t want the same picture for 12 months. This task has become increasingly difficult because she went from not being able to sit on her own, to knocking the decorations over, wanting to hold them, and usually trying to eat them…  She now gets excited when she sees me pull out the little chalkboard, but she’s 11 months now, so that is going to end soon! Instead of getting excited at every month it’s going to transition to every year, and I am sure that the years will fly by just as quickly as her month to month milestones did.

The dreamy haze from last night’s sunset added to the fog that this last year has been. My baby girl is 11 months old. Everybody said that she would grow up so fast, but I never fathomed it would be THIS fast. I have watched her go from a little blob needing me every single waking moment, to a mini human with a personality so large that it hardly seems possible because of her petite size. This girl knows what she wants and has no problem letting the world know through loud babbles, a furrowed brow, and the occasional hissy fit (hardest part about parenting so far: not laughing at her naughty behavior. So far I am failing!) This girl makes me LAUGH. She lights up every room that she enters and instantly becomes the star of the show, just like she has become the star of my life. I never knew that my heart was capable of loving another human this much.

Every day, every week and every month just keeps getting better and better. But this moment right here is one that I will treasure forever.
